Join us for a winter textile retreat with artist Caroline Sharkey and sashiko designer Sue Howie.

Textile Art with Caroline Sharkey – June 6 to 8

2 day workshop. Embellishing the Surface is my way of creating textures that are interesting and change the way you as the viewer look at fabric.
Caroline Sharkey's approach is to chop the fabrics into small confetti styled pieces, and then mix the colours and textures to create beautiful new fabrics, as well as using raw edge applique and thread painting to enhance these surfaces. Caroline travels to teach techniques of fabric embellishments and textured surface workshops and love to inspire and encourage everyone to experience the creative side of Textile Art.

Sashiko and Boro with Sue Howie – June 9 to 10

2 day workshop. Learn Techniques of Sashiko and Boro.
Course will share ways of creating a Sashiko piece. Pre-Printed, Tracing of Designs. Creating your own Sashiko designs. Create a Boro Piece to create a computer pad, or Tote Bag.

Attend one or both workshops over the four day retreat – the choice is yours! Many wonderful inclusions and optional extras! Beginners most welcome.
