The Gold Coast Lapidary Club will be holding its 60th Annual Gem and Craft Show! Its a fun day out for the whole family.

Want to discover some hidden gems? Well, you’re in luck.

  • Stalls showcasing the latest in lapidary equipment, jewellery findings, finished jewellery, slabs of rough material, specimens and workshop demonstrations
  • Working demonstrations of gem cutting, silver and gold jewellery making and displays of members’ work
  • Competitions for open and novice classes
  • Fossicking for the kids
  • Two free raffle tickets will be given with each paying entry, with thousands of dollars worth of prizes to be won
  • A large variety of food and drinks available from the kitchen and barbecue

The annual show also provides the club with an opportunity to explain to visitors and budding ‘rock hounds’ what lapidary is about. It can be a very rewarding hobby in more ways than one, being able to create a piece of jewellery from something that you have found is something special.

There will be members on hand to explain the various aspects of the club and stalls will have locally made jewellery and gemstones for sale, so it is also a good chance to pick up special and unique gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or just to spoil yourself.

The club has been operating since 1965, moving to our current location in the 1970s. We now have members ranging in age from 12 to 80.
