Dave Bentley Trio (DB3)
Tuesday 18 March 2025 | 07:00 PM
Southport
A swinging, spirited line-up with original material, fresh harmonic interest on blues and jazz standards, and a unique take on classic New Orleans grooves.
The group performs frequently at Brisbane Jazz Club and has a strong profile in the festival scene – including the Crossbows Festival at South Bank and the Re-Strung Festival at the Brisbane Metro.
David Bentley is a noted jazz/blues pianist. Globally recognised for having penned 70s classic hit, In A Broken Dream, his interests span a wide spectrum. His trio backed touring jazz greats like vibraphonist Milt Jackson and saxophonist Phil Woods. A Brisbane Jazz Club regular, he performs at many festivals.
Andrew Shaw is the bassist of choice not only for DB3 but for touring artists including US jazz stars like saxophonist Dave Liebman and guitarist John Scofield. Shaw performs in a diverse range of genres from jazz to world music and classical.
Nathan Goldman is a tasty and swinging jazz drummer whose style defies easy categorisation. Prominent in the Brisbane jazz scene for the past 16 years, Nathan has performed with renowned interstate and overseas touring artists including Dale Barlow, Matthew Jodrell, James Sherlock and Hetty Kate.
