Our first Coffee and Chat Session will be with Jodi who will be explaining a new program called Charge Up. Come down and support our Social Enterprise Coffee Cart by purchasing a coffee and having a chat with Jodi on how to save some money on your power bill.
We are offering free Energy Bill Review sessions and providing a thorough DIY Home Energy Efficiency Checklist for community members. Although some households have contacted their energy provider and requested the best tariff, our services have found savings in more than 90% of the energy bills reviewed.
The State and Federal Government are working together to ensure the wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable citizens through improvements to social housing properties in Queensland. The Honourable Sam O’Connor, Minister for Housing and Public Works and Minister for Youth has advised that there is cool relief on the way for Queensland social housing tenants. This government investment will improve energy efficiency and tenant wellbeing with ceiling fans to be installed to more than 24,000 Queensland social housing properties. This initiative is possible because of a state and federal government partnership through Social Housing Energy Performance initiative.
