Join us for a great afternoon of acoustic music filled with community spirit where musicians and music lovers come together.

We’ve tried to bring them to our stage before, but the timing never quite worked out. Then, at the Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival, I saw them live – and so did a packed crowd who responded with great enthusiasm. At that moment, I knew we had to make it happen. So, we’re thrilled to finally welcome Haystack Mountain Hermits as our next Open Mic Feature Act!

A family band with an unmistakable sound, they blend tight harmonies, fine musicianship, and a deep love for the folk tradition. Their songs – both originals and reimagined classics – are crafted with care, each one telling a story that draws you in.

They’ve played some of Australia’s biggest folk and country festivals, including Dorrigo, Woodford, Gympie Muster, Tamworth, and the National Folk Festival. In 2023, they were invited to perform at the Currumbin Dawn Service, and they even shared a stage with Paul Kelly at Rockin’ the Rainforest.

Their latest release, The Horses Stay Behind (One Last Ride), was a semi-finalist in the 2024 International Songwriters Competition, with a moving commemorative video filmed alongside the Australian Light Horse Association.
