Art+Potluck: Comfort Food
Sunday 02 March 2025 | 05:00 PM
Elanora
A gathering of members of the community over the dining table, sharing their comfort foods and stories in a safe and inclusive space.
Everyone one has a go-to dish when they are feeling lonely, sad, homesick, upset, frustrated or angry. This is usually called our "comfort food" – food that calms and comforts us during times when we are down.
"Comfort food" refers to any type of food that provides a sense of emotional well-being or nostalgia when consumed. These foods are often associated with positive memories or emotions, and are typically indulgent or hearty in nature.
Our next event is an opportunity for everyone to share what their comfort foods are. Please know that there are no limits to what they can be! So even if it is instant noodles or a vanilla slice, we would love for you to share it with us. And while you're at it, you may also want to bring along items (something like a "security blanket", for example), art piece, songs, poetry, stories that give you comfort.
This is a free event but registration is essential.
