About the Workshop

This session aimed at assisting artists and creative entrepreneurs in creating a flexible and sustainable business model. With AJ you will develop strategies for diversifying income, seizing opportunities and fostering a growth mindset to achieve success in your creative business.

About the Facilitator

Alyson Joyce (AJ), is a creative entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the arts and business. Founder of BIPOC Arts Australia, she is dedicated to carving out space for artists of colour, ensuring they have the resources, support, and visibility to thrive in the industry. Her work bridges the gap between creativity and commerce, empowering artists not only to perfect their craft but also to understand the business behind it.

Beyond the arts, AJ is a powerhouse in the FinTech space as the visionary behind Touch2Pay, a Black-owned company revolutionising digital transactions with a team that is 90% women of colour. AJ's work covers a wide range of industries, from travel and tourism to technology, all with the goal of creating infrastructure that empowers communities.

An advocate for artistic sustainability, AJ champions the belief that talent alone isn’t enough; artists need access to real tools, funding strategies, business acumen, and industry knowledge, to transform their passions into lasting careers.
